Crossed Out

 Picture of Crossed Out
Here's some more essential powerviolence from these California greats.  Encinitas' Crossed Out was fast-as-fuck and played some of the most contagiously crushing punk that has ever been recorded.  This powerviolence classic was incredibly urgent, unrelenting and manic playing at raging speeds and had the most brutal slow parts that will never leave your brain.  They're simply one of the greats of the genre and still sound better and more mesmerizing after every listen.  Snag their discography below and indulge in the rage.

Fracaso

Fracaso hails from Caracas, Venezuela and plays a bad-ass brand of primitive Scandinavian-style d-beat with major Discharge warship.  This shit is loaded with scummy guitar chords, fuzzy bass lines, caveman drum beatings and reverb-soaked vocals.  These guys are catchy, straight ahead, raw and unbelievably kick ass!  Download everything below and dig!

Sed Non Satiata

Sed Non Satiata is an awesome emotive-screamo band out of France. Sometimes beautiful and instrumental, sometimes chaotic and intense. If you are into Daitro you will be into this!  New album is astonishing and well worth the wait.  Dig!

Total Trash

Picture of Total Trash

Minneapolis, Minnesota's Total Trash is a fuzzy distorted mess of grunged-out punk.  They play an obnoxious blend of noisy, experimental 90's alternative punk bliss.  Thumping, weird, thrashing, moody and fun as hell.  The Wizard at Terminal Escape described them perfectly,  all I can say is WOW!  Snag and dig.... then dig some more!

Cruddler

This band rules. Three songs of fuzzed out pop rock from members of Hightide Hotel, Stable Boys, Olive Drab, and Glocca Marinara. This is just awesome. Not much else to say. Reminds me of old Blink 182 sometimes but not at all. Just get it.

Some Stranger

s/t cover art
Some Stranger dropped one of my personal favorite releases this year.  It's an experimental indie project that also combines elements of progressive rock, emo and post hardcore.  Their release has a top-notch production with perfectly executed guitar work (Daniel Danger is a genius), amazing keyboard mixing, masterful drum work (Flanagin's nuts) and flawlessly executed vocal melodies (Tym you kill it!).  This band is refreshingly original and created a rock solid debut that rocks so hard with a highly memorable and elegant sound.  Snag their EP below and have some fun.  Dig!

Self Titled 12" EP (2013)

Major Damage

Here's some homage to the classic Boston/New York hardcore sound with this one-man hardcore punk project known as Major Damage.   Brandon Ferrell (Direct Control, Government Warning, Municipal Waste, Wasted Time & Syndrome) constructs straight-up, stripped down, headbanging hardcore that would be welcomed with open arms in the 80's.  These jams are gruff and full of uneasy rage which makes it all the better!  Snag everything below because it's fucking awesome.  Dig.
